Please join Dr. Christopher Brum, Assistant Professor San Diego State & Dr. Susan Bruce, Professor Boston College for our summer webinar.

Communication and literacy are key areas that are impacted by the effects of deafblindness. Shared reading, also known as interactive reading, is an important literacy activity for all learners, including those who are deafblind. This presentation will address selection criteria for shared reading materials; environmental considerations such as materials access and positioning; and, instructional approaches and strategies for active engagement, vocabulary acquisition, writing, and comprehension. Practical examples of implementation will be shared.
