Session Description
This session explores leading AI-powered tools that support people with vision loss in accessing information, navigating environments, interpreting visual content, and completing everyday tasks. Participants will examine practical applications of computer vision, image description, text recognition, conversational AI, and wearable technologies. The session will also address limitations, privacy considerations, accuracy concerns, and the importance of matching tools to an individual’s goals and preferences.
Learning Objectives
- Identify leading AI-powered accessibility tools for people with vision loss.
- Describe how AI features such as object recognition, visual interpretation, and conversational assistance can be applied in educational, professional, and daily life.
- Evaluate AI accessibility tools using considerations including usability, reliability, privacy, cost, and user choice.
